Anybody read about the Bojan Roma deal? Fucking outrageous, retarded people in Roma there surely.

12m for a 2 year loan, to hope that he is shit. If he performs well, Barca can buy him back for 13m. If Roma wants to keep him after 2 years, they need to pay another 28m, making the deal 40m for Bojan. Ridiculous

they'll only need to pay 28m to bloack barca buying him back - if barca dont want him he's theirs for the 12m initial layout

if it's lowered the initial outlay it'll be a good deal as they may otherwise not have been able to afford him

plus he can be excellent and barca may not have room for him or want him

The deal shows that Barca aren't sure about Bojan. They realise that he is super talented, but he won't break through on their squad. If the numbers are correct, the deal will cost Barca 1 million pounds if they eventually want him back.

Note that they get the advantage or receiving 12 million pounds today and spending 13 million pounds in 2 years, so if they really value money now (eg if they need to sign Fabregas this window), then it's a very clever deal for Barca. It's the type of deal we should be doing with our young players like Bartley

So what if Roma doesn't want to keep him? If they're forced to pay that 28m sum, then it seems like one of the worst deals I've ever seen. I don't understand why they'd go through those shenanigans when there's a bevy of strikers available for a similar price.

I think that 28m amount is to remove the Barca option of buying the player back. If Barca want him back, then they got a good player on loan for a few years, the only cost being they will make 1 million pounds minus the time value of the money put down at the start of the deal versus the money they get back from Barca at the end.

As I said, if the deal is structured in that fashion, it is the sort of thing that Gazidis should be looking to do to improve cashflow

Who on our squad could we do that for? The reason it's plausible for Bojan is because he's young, somewhat unproven, and has a fair bit of potential.

bojan's not that good and that 28m option will never be exercised, so it's basically 12m for a 2 yr loan, which works out to _120k/week on a free.

That's right, Capi and Dules. Don't understand why people don't see how it's a good deal for both sides. We need to look into this. New money teams like Blackburn and QPR could be used in such deals. We give them Vela or Bartley, and get some up front cash. While we await sponsorship money in 2013-14, this might be a way to bring some cash forward. Isn't this the shit Gazidis should be doing instead of popping up once every three months to say we have cash to spend. What do we pay management for exactly? Shiiiiiit!
