Some heads have to roll that's for sure. Possibly coaching and captaincy changes and as for players you'd have to think this is the end for guys like Panesar, Prior, Tremlett and maybe even Pietersen. Carberry seems solid enough but you just can't see him ever going past the 40s. Probably worth giving Root an extended run in the opening position, or some other youngster, but I guess there really aren't any and the whole point of Carberry was to do the job for 2 or 3 years until a long term option was ready. Needed to do what Rogers is doing for Australia. Bairstow just doesn't seem an international batsman and has had enough chances to make a big contribution by now. Big question marks over the spinner and 3rd seamer positions too. Broad was generally good in this series and Anderson didn't have much luck but am happy to put down some of his poorer games to fatigue and workload - remember hearing he bowled more overs than anyone else in world cricket in 2013 or something, and the batsmen just haven't given the bowlers enough rest between bowling innings.
Well done to Stokes coming into his first series and performing on a different planet to anyone else in the side. Of this squad I'd probably only stick with Cook (form is temporary, class is permanent and all that and you'd think he's surely good enough find runs again after 2 fairly poor series), Root (still so young and shown enough to suggest he can be a top player), Bell, Stokes, Anderson, Broad. The rest are either done or just not up to test level.
