On another note, I know someone who was in a club in London where the England team were the night the game finished and met several players, and he then came down with covid the next day. Watch this space. 😆

Great first session. Really enjoyed Wood's bowling. Wanted him the team to start with for that something different with the other bowlers all being a bit samey. There's just no substitute for express pace.

invisibleman18 Suffered numerous injuries hasn’t he, so been saving him for this wicket. Read his body absorbs 12 times his weight with each delivery. Hopefully his attack hasn’t come too late, as he was sensational. Big session ahead in the morning.

James He was brilliant. So happy for him getting the 5fer. Real favourite player of mine, just love watching him bowl. Such a shame he's had so much trouble with injuries. He was in the team when we last won the Ashes in 2015 and has still only played 28 tests.

invisibleman18 Yeah, I think I would go with that. I mean, I love Rocket Ronnie, but as I said last night, there's no drama like an Andy Murray drama. No idea how he turned it around on Tsitsipas last night, cos the guy was playing lights out for most of the first two sets (although I did fancy Andy to nick the second breaker). Hopefully, Andy can pick up right where he left off this afternoon. Just found out my aunt has got tickets for Centre today, she is a very lucky lady indeed!

As for Mark Wood, he took the decisive wicket in the 2015 Ashes, I think. We were just getting settled in our flat then - memories... Such a shame he hasn't managed to stay fit, but a welcome intro to the party yesterday!

Yeah he took the winning wicket in that series, and I think possibly the other 2 in Broad's 8-15 innings too.

Very jealous of your Aunt! I tried for the ballot the last two times I was back over there but got nothing so just queued and got a day pass into outside courts.
As an aside, also been to Australian and US Open so just need to make it to the French one day to complete the attendance Grand Slam.

That 8-15 morning was incredible. It felt like everyone in our office was listening to TMS on headphones and the buzz was - well, something I really miss in this new WFH landscape.

My aunt went to uni with Mick Desmond, who used to be the Commercial & Media Director for Wimbledon (in fact, she told me Andy Murray was proper fucked before it was common knowledge in 2018) so she usually gets a day of ligging on Centre Court once a year. I don't know if you remember the marathon semi final that was played a few years back which preceded Djokovic v Nadal, but she was there for that - and then left before the second semi final got going... I couldn't believe that!

Haha that's actually a cat tunnel (we have 2 cats) but wouldn't be a bad idea when all the sport I follow is overnight our time! They are running through that thing all the time. Pretty rare to manage to take a photo with them not photo bombing it!
