having an endless 'transition pull up from 3' contest seems to be the way the league is going. not sure i'll stay interested if it keeps going this way
generally, this is how things work in sports (all sports)
there is an accepted method that all teams use > one team (or a small handful) decide to think differently and approach things differently > those teams develop a very noticeable advantage and it seems like they are miles ahead of the rest of the league > the rest of the league adjusts and figures out how to nullify or reduce the impact of the change > one team (or a few) decides to pivot and try something new > repeat for the remainder of history
it takes courage to upend the traditional norms and practices and try new things. new things eventually become the norm, then its on to new things again.
right now, pace and space is the name of the game. more teams are flocking toward it. at some point, maybe a year or three years or ten years from now, there will be something different.
