Watched the Warriors v Spurs game yesterday and, boy, does Kerr have some work to do! Strange as it may sound, but getting Gasol instead of Duncan of last season is a big upgrade for the Spurs. Will be interesting to see how their season progresses and, based on that game, how Jonathon Simmons does over the course of the season. He had an immense game.
Kerr needs to find a way for the Warriors to be competitive on the boards, and they need to improve quite a bit defensively. Although Durant is in a different stratosphere compared to most players, there was a big Bogut sized hole in that Warriors defense the other night. They also had to give up some really good squad players, and Harrison Barnes, to make way for Durant; it means that Kerr and his staff have about 7 new players to integrate, and that's not easy.
