Always find it funny when sportsmen/women thank jesus or god after winning an event (as I'm reading Fury apparently did). Surely if you genuinely believed, you would think that Jesus/God would have more important things to be doing than helping you win a pointless sporting contest...particularly one that involve beating the crap out of another person.

Not a fan of his boxing style (although it's definitely a good change to see someone else at the top) but it's pretty much impossible to have a problem with his character. He's literally Brad Pitt's character in Snatch. Also what are the chances that your father names you after a heavyweight world champion and you end up one yourself?

Lennox Lewis was a much better boxer than Klitschko. So was Tyson, and so was Holyfield. Unfortunately, there are no interesting heavyweights around these days, and that Klitschko was undefeated for s decade more than anything speaks of the poor standards IMO. Fury is a character, but not much of a fighter either.

I don't think Christians usually hold that God just has a packed calendar and really needs to hire better help—though it would explain a few things.

Agreed Klitschko isn't in that league but Fury is not even in the conversation.

Yeah, Wlad isn't up there but in his prime he was better than Fury. His older brother was way better though, just had a conversation about this the other day and I reckon Vitali would have dispatched even a prime Tyson as well. Reckon he would do Fury even today.

Proof

Conor McGregor is the biggest star in UFC history. Jose Aldo was mentally broken and without PEDs he is a mediocre fighter, just like Vitor Belfort.

TBF I don't know how much of that could have been changed by PEDs, its not like he had a chance to show any strength or stamina.

These MMA guys are sloppy as anything. Just rubbish from Aldo, jump in with your chin floating in mid-air. McGregor did what any half-competent striker would do and plant a big one right on the kisser. Not a great knockout by any stretch. Same with that Rousey fight the other week, it's easy to look good against someone who walks in basically saying "go on, hit me, I'm here!".

Entertainment for the unassuming general public, I guess. A far cry from top-level boxing or kickboxing, though.

I've no love for the UFC either, think the reason embarrassing fights like these can happen is the focus on grappling and ground fights. I used to box myself so I'm obviously biased but for me it's not a fight anymore when your opponent is lying on the ground ffs.

I'm no MMA fan but I've seen enough fights to know that getting your opponent to ground does not mean the challenge/fight is effectively over.
