Yeah but remember the RWC is still very young compared to the WC, Nth Korea were the first totally underrated team to burst onto the scene in 66.

Way after my time!
My most memorable World Cups were 82 and 86.
They have progressively got worse, for me, since then.
The fact that vuvuzuelas are the most memorable thing about the 2010 version says it all.

Yep Holland in 74 & 78 and France in 78 were the right blend of excitement and discipline, W. Germany were too brutally efficient and Argentina were just too err brutal.
I heard people raving with excitement about the Brazilians in 70 but I don't remember it, the first WC I remember was 74.

The first game I remember was the 71 FA cup final and the rest as they say is history. 🙂

Back on topic, I didn't know U-R-GAY played rugby, they're not bad either.
I do find all the technical stoppages to confirm decisions and tries etc very long, a warning to those who want more technology in football.

I actually watched the England v Wales rugby game, which I presume is what you refer to. 🙂
My first rugby game I have watched in its entirety. Not going to pretend that I know diddly do about rugby, but it was an interesting spectacle. England looked very good defensively, and dead certain to win the game, up until midway through the second half. Loved the fighting spirit of the Welsh. Must say that I enjoyed the refs wearing mics! Something for football perhaps?

Can someone for the love of God explain to me what determines if a team gets penalized in the scrum?! Looked totally random to me.

I don't think anyone knows to be honest, there are too many rules. I don't understand what most penalties are for. Pretty gutted to have lost that after leading most of the match. Sadly given the group we're in it probably means we're out now.

Yep. Havent watched league for a long time, but this game was enthralling from start to finish.

Nope, wrong rugby code and it's the Aussie national league. If you're going to get interested in rugby (I'm usually not at all bothered) you need to pick up these minor details. 🙂
