if any of you like baseball, jose bautista just hit a crucial home run and did an amazing bat flip celebration

this type of thing is frowned upon, and it led to benches clearing and fans getting crazy.

pitchers look at it as the batter showing them up. its part of the whole "unwritten rules" of the game which basically says you shouldn't showboat and gloat when you prevail

most fans actually enjoy the showmanship, but its the other players that take offense because "you shouldnt show up a fellow professional"....personally, id do choreographed celebrations.

the equiv in footie would be scoring a penalty and then doing a cartwheel and grabbing your crotch in front of the other team's goalkeeper. he'd be pissed, and so would his teammates.

but this is murica we're talking about. shawn kemp would dunk on some poor bastard then point and laugh right in his face, and so would teammates on the bench. and nfl touchdown celebrations take on a life of their own. tossing a bat seems mild by comparison, but then again i never watch the sport so i may be missing something

I might be wrong but I thought the benches cleared because of a misunderstanding between Encarnacion and whoever the Rangers pitcher was. It shows in the replays as well but I'm not an expert on baseball, might be me misunderstanding it
