I'm honestly not sure why you think this was Trossard's best season for us. He's clearly not at his peak.

I love Trossard but international football is levels below the Premier League and especially the teams Belgium have played so far. That US team wouldn't even make the Championship play offs. Early rounds of the World Cup is not a good place to look at a players ceiling.

Qwiss I don't disagree with the idea but Trossard's technical level is quite a bit above pretty much everyone else in the squad and good ability to impact in key matches. I understand with his age the case for moving him. But we don't have much technical quality in this team right now and we are going to reduce it further which I think it's already a massive weakness for us. We need to be boosting the technical quality big this summer and that may mean also letting go some of Arteta's favourites physical players because I think the balance in that is wrong in our squad.

daredevil Would love to see Merino as a full-time 9 with our best XI behind him - 9 G/A in 12 games as a CF in 24/25.

The problem I've found with him being CF is his general play is a bit patchy, on the flip side if he gets a chance this guy has ice running through his veins!

awooga83 let's see who we bring in. Trossard was great for us but he's not done a lot for the last 6 months, his output has fallen off a cliff and we need a LW upgrade. He'll always be a bit of a mini legend here now but we need more in the attack. Replacing his m makes sense.

I get the feeling no one will be wringing their hands about his departure by the time the window closes.
