Mirth I don't think that's an entirely fair characterisation of Rogers. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather buy a true winger to replace Tross and I want guys who can wriggle out of tight spaces (etc.) but think it's a bit harsh to suggest Rogers is just a wrecking ball. He's definitely more than that.

Odegaard isn’t the player he used to be 2 years ago. Injuries have caught up with him. Same goes for Saka. Ideally we are replacing both as neither can be relied on if we’re serious about retaining the title.
Ray replacing Odegaard isn't the problem but replacing him with Rogers doesn't get us closer to the likes of PSG.

Most Villa fans I've heard from are adamant Rogers plays his best when he starts on the left. I don't think he's going to start in the middle for us. I see him as a long-term replacement for our very eligible Belgian bachelor.

I think this summer might be the perfect time to sell martinelli if he is not in the plans. I love the guy but i can see the logic. He is easily a 50 mill player and if he is not going to be a starter once we get someone like Barcola it can be said he is worth more sold. He is 25 and just won the league. A decent showing at the WC and he is easily worth 50-60 mill. I rather now than selling him for 20 mill to the likes of Everton a year or two from now.
Cannon Martinelli will go. That he still has no new contract and there are no reported talks makes that pretty clear.
