How good is he in tight spaces?

I feel like he's most effective on the counter which we need more of anyway but would be good to know that he can also be effective against a physical and deep defence.

Kvara would be the dream signing but this guy is definitely next on the list. I just can't see under any circumstance PSG letting Kvara go. Barcola still has another level in him, this guy under the right coach will hit crazy heights.

He’s kind of a mix between Trossard and Martinelli in that sense. He’s able to find a yard to fire off a shot, but his finishing is quite erratic.

What he’s excellent at in the box is cutting it back or laying it off to teammates presenting them with decent XG opportunities.

His main asset though is that leggy range coupled with ball carrying over distance. Would add a profile on the left that we don’t really have

lorddulaarsenal Thanks he looks pretty comfortable on either foot which is a plus and not afraid of the defensive side and also surprisingly tall but possibly a little lightweight? I can see why we're after him. Looks like there is room for improvement too.

I think around the range we were paying for attackers last season 50-65 he'd be a good addition.

daredevil yeah we've waited for these guys to mature. It makes sense to bring through our own kids first and foremost and then if you feel someone has the potential to a superstar like Kroupi Jr for instance then yeah go for that. There is no need for new teenage fullbacks. Our defence already has plenty of young with Mosquera at 21 and Salmon coming through. Even Cala and Hincapie are only 24. I think we should replace White due to fitness issues but it should be with someone capable of walking into the team and pushing for Timbers spot straight away.

Alvarez would be a waste of money. He doesn’t even score more than the guys we have now. Kroupi is one goal behind our top scorer in his teenage debut season. In a few years Alvarez won’t even be in the same conversation as him.

Gurgen Alvarez has won every single trophy in world football and is at prime age, would be a fantastic signing. Kroupi could be a one season wonder as far as we know.

Gurgen I think Kroupi is an ideal Jesus replacement for us, hopefully there is a reasonable buy out clause in his contract.

Sicario2 For the £100m + he'll command I'm not convinced. For the kind of money people are talking about I'd expect a hell of a lot more. Last season he scored 8 league goals, Griezmann scored a similar number of league goals to him.

i need to know who mikel prefers and then go with the opposite. i'm sure he would prefer alvarez, so i definitely want kroupi.

and alvarez's wages would be 3x kroupi's. hopefully that's the sticking point that saves our brain trust from themselves.

Just give me one of:

Alvarez or Kroupi.
Barcola or Gordon.

Add two of those 4 to our squad and we will be much better in the attack next year. Our floor is so high now due to our defense and general stability that even marginal gains in the attack could mean another 10 pts. I have trouble imagining anyone else winning if we are close to 95 pts next year.

Kvaratskhelia is the dream. I’m hoping smashing PSG in the final and all the funds that come with it will make that possible. That’s why we need to go to the next level.

Barcola isn’t a bad second choice but you’d be hoping he can step up a level or two.

Alvarez will have similar problems to Gyokores even if he is better technically.

i don't even understand where this kvara stuff is coming from. it's not just about the transfer fee. psg or someone else is going to pay him haaland wages. even real madrid don't do that unless they get them on a free.

One more week and then this will be the most active thread on the forum for about 3 months. I have to admit I love the drama of a transfer window and for the first time in a long time, we'll be going into one in a position of incredible strength.

Fingers crossed for another big summer but I am genuinely struggling to see where and how we improve drastically. LW and ST are the two obvious positions but finding guys out there (1) who improve us and are (2) within reach will be very, very difficult but that will be the job this summer - for big balls Berta to bring one (or two) bona fide superstar/(s) in attack. Excited to see who the club pursue.

Meatwad I can believe Barcola since he’s stuck behind the big 3. But Kvara story sounds like fantasy. That said, I think we can draw pretty much anyone who isn’t a top player established at City, Real, PSG. I think even Bayern/Barca players are gettable now
