Here’s what I think happened - Alvarez was unsettled and At Madrid effectively confirmed he’s up for sale for anyone not named Barcelona.

We checked it out because he’s a talented player but since he didn’t show any interest in joining us, we left it there. This transfer breaks all of Arteta’s non negotiables.

At Madrid benefit from keeping us in the headline and the media have been repeating the same story for the past week but I suspect we’ve moved on a long time ago.

Don Pacifico ambiguity helps in the long run though. Also it’s not like we’re not interested in him, if he changes his stance then we’ll talk but he hasn’t so there’s been no movement for a week.

Klaus I really wouldn't believe too much what you read in the Spanish press. I don't know if this just applies for football but honestly the shit they come out with you'd think their tapped in the head in the media over there! The press here is bad enough but these lot on another level.

If you’ve got a spare 20 minutes or so Billy’s latest is good, but also highlights there not really much out there in terms of ready to go now stuff. I was amazed that Kroupi didn’t have an assist. Lots of shots and goals but no assists.

TLDR - he loves Alvarez. Mbaye should be great.
