There needs to be a look at the club why we couldn't secure someone. It could be down to poor planning and I have to say I am not really feeling Berta and his approach. But you also should not buy players for the sake of things and only target what you need. Also not wise to pay stupidly high prices because once clubs know you'll pay whatever you ask they'll come asking for more. Need to keep a disciplined approach.

Ray Saka + Haaland + Semenyo. Barcola has it all to prove. He's only had one top class season for PSG so far.

What's the point of getting 'win-now' players at the back and in midfield to weaken our attack

Will be 2 seasons in a row on the face of it, we have not raised the level of our attack at all.. it's definitely a worry.. having said that, if we can get Kai, Martin and Bukayo fit and performing throughout the season, will be better than any addition we could have brought in, including Vinni.

We have at least 4 quality forwards who underdelivered last season for various reasons - Odegaard, Saka, Havertz, and Eze. Get some contributions from Gyokeres, Tzolis, Madueke, Dowman, and Merino and we are good. The improvement is from Vinny level players.

Not his biggest fan, but why are we selling Martinelli if we are not bringing in anyone to replace him?

Tactics maybe the plan it to use Nwaneri somewhere in the team instead which I wouldn’t be averse to.

As someone who thought we'd get Rogers in along with Tzolis and was quite looking forward to seeing him play for us am quite disappointed we haven't managed to bolster the attack, but can't complain with the midfield and defence.

Numbers wise we good just need a bit more elite quality unless Ode/Hav/Gyok/Eze step up.

This window was always going to be about covering the injury holes in defence and midfield, and then try to pull off something extraordinary in the attack if the right opportunity arose.

Vinicius is extraordinary and would have been worth any kind of trouble - financial or otherwise - that came along with signing him. Rogers is not extraordinary but was open to coming here; he just ended up costing way more than he was worth. Alvarez isn't extraordinary either but might have been a good fallback for the right fee. Both the fee and the attitude of the player turned out to be outrageous though. We move on, stronger than we were when we finished last season as champions. Simple as that.

Mirth Handpicked by Micheli too, who in return was handpicked so we wouldn't have to go and spend crazy amounts on youth and halfway-there players. There's a logic to how we've shopped this summer that is very easy to get on board with.
