Honestly not that bothered about the Alvarez stuff.
If it bothers you, look at it this way: if it's true we're negotiating with Atleti, then we're pissing in Barcelona's coffee. They were planning to have him blackmailing Atletico till deadline day and getting a cheaper deal.
So if it's true we're now camped out with our £70m plus Gyök offer—not too shabby and in my opinion, a strategic concept—and Barcelona are realising if they actually want Alvarez they'll eventually have to close the gap … and he in turn will be realising how conditional their love is.
