Bernard Woolley I was thinking the same thing this morning when looking at highlights of Barcola and Mbaye. I think Mbaye might end up being the better player and he would be significantly cheaper. Also with Tzolis looking to be a real player, he might not be as concerned with not being the day in day out starter like Barcola would be. Mbaye also looks athletically and physically more suited for the EPL - Barcola can fly but I'm not sure he would deal well with the physicality of the league. I'd take Mbaye in a heartbeat and wish we were in for him.

If we keep Martinelli, not bothered. Guimaraes and Tzolis are massive coups. Plus we have a lot of players who underdelivered last year, and several players who are still developing quite quickly like Saka, Mosquera, Dowman. Hincapie, Calafirori, MLS etc. net out any injuries/loss of form this year and I expect us to still have good growth potential.

I think many of our fans underestimate the quality and growth prospects of the existing base

I would love to see an exciting attacking sigining but it's not necessary for us to continue to be the best team by a signficant margin.

Sicario2 yeah. Saka was derailed last 18 months. This is a 20 goal scorer in the making if he gets fit

I’m worried - the club themselves wanted to strengthen the attack by looking at Rogers and Vini and ultimately have failed to do so. They’ve fallen short on their own targets.

I still think our attack will improve through Bruno joining and hopefully getting a little bit lucky with injuries. But it could have and should have been more.

Our opportunity is to become the dominant team in England for the next 5 plus years. That requires a mix of win-now and for-the-future decisions. If we do that, the CL will come. Giving yourself a chance is what you can plan for.

Saka will still be efficient with his decision making, and I trust his delivery. Hopeful that he gets his shot back.

But as long as he can stay/start higher up field I'm not too worried. He looks bulked up so he may be aware that his game needs to evolve.

I'm bullish on Saka these days, though a month back I was worried....corn rows changed it all, man looks ready for business.

RowJimmy I’m more worried about this season than 2 or 3 years down the line. I feel what you are saying about balancing horizons, but we are already in the 5th year of this cycle. The bloody cheats at City cost us 2-3 titles between us battling them and the team falling apart from 2 brutal seasons.
Also want to get our first back to back in basically a century. We need that to create aura. That’s why I really like the Guimarães signing. He’s top tier now. Get him in. City will get good in 2-3 years. Maybe same for others. We need to execute now.
