Gunner89 For context city have guehi, dias, gvardiol and khusanov

In terms of players that actually play, they have Ait-Nouri, O'Reilly, Khusanov, Gvardiol, Guehi, Dias and Nunes. We have Calafiori, Hincapie, Gabriel, Saliba, Mosquera, White and Timber.

They aren't the ones carrying 3 injury prone players though + 1 out for 2-3 months

Calafiori misses chunks of each season regularly, so does white and as of now so does timber

Saliba is out till end of oct-nov

Do people really want Mosquera or Konsa getting regular game time at RB? Think we'd need a major overhaul in the way we build out from the back to accommodate that without being significantly detrimental to our performances.

Don Pacifico White is not going anywhere and neither is timber so i think unless you want rice to play there then yes mosquera is pretty capable there more so than cb at the moment

For a few games, yes. I'd be concerned if we're playing a third of the season with him and Konsa on the right of our back four.

Our record with defenders has been exceptional - club have the right to go with whoever they fancy. Maybe Konsa is a miss but asking the club to pull out a Hincapie out of the bag every summer seems a stretch!

I’m worried about LW - we’ve not got a great track record there and we’re hardly linked with anyone!

Don Pacifico this might sound glib but the fact is you’ll always be uncomfortable if we had to play our second choice CB and second choice RB for a third of the season.

Gunner89 at this point, White's fitness can't be relied upon and I don't think we can expect Timber to be thrust straight back into the thick of things when he returns.

Mirth sure, that's fair. But Mosquera is third choice RB and I think his weaknesses would be much more apparent at RB than a specialist 2nd choice RB.

Mirth but then why not buy someone who is primarily a RB? I'm not going to pretend I've seen Konsa at RB but surely there's players out there whoare cheaper but also better at RB?

I disagree - hardly any club with a 22 year old cb wings things - you need a generational talent like salibe

Konsa is far better than him

Fact of the matter is konsa is the same age as bruno and mls is better in his position than mosquera in his position

So it's a no brainer

And what happens if gabriel gets injured when saliba is out is when you really get in the shitter

Pretty sure Villa beat Man City with Konsa at right back the season before last and he was one of their best players.

Given his height and profile I actually don’t think Arteta picks him at centre back

Mirth And we have played flamini as an lb when we've beaten high profile teams...doesn't mean that's the norm
