SimplyTheBest Ronaldinho at his Barca peak was probably the best player of all time though. Neymar wasted his career a bit but you can't fault him for not quite meeting that standard.

All of these including Cesc, Sanchez and whatever others were EXPENDABLE players for them while being world class (except sneijder)

When did ferguson even pull up a signing like this from a barcelona/madrid or pep? This would be the biggest signing in PL history in terms of brand name etc. The last bonafide superstar who was at an elite club (at that time) I think was shevchenko but he was 30 and didn't have the phsyical attributes for the PL

Klaus Vinicius has won La Liga like 3 times and the CL twice with a HUGELY powerful Real Madrid over EIGHT years. Neither Sánchez nor Vinicius deserve to be mentioned prominently in the history of 21st century football, but at least Sánchez won multiple trophies for his much weaker National Team.

Again, I think Vinicius is a fantastic player, but having a player of his quality at Arsenal would not be unprecedented, nor is he essential to Madrid. It's not a seismic shift or whatever. Hence they are clearly not pulling all stops to keep him there.

Tactics Strongly disagree. Alexis was more productive for a deeply-flawed Arsenal team than Vinicius has been at Real Madrid steamrolling weak teams week-in-week-out, and was more impactful in a deeply-flawed Chilean team, leading them to successive Copa América victories, than Vinicius has been for star-studded Brazil.

You make it sound like Vinicius was a luxury player along for the ride. While the 2022 Madrid team was stacked, I wouldn't say the 2024 Madrid team was anything special.

Vini's record in the Champions league is elite - goals in two finals, 31 CL assists already (5th highest) and 30+ goals in just over 80 games.

It helps that he played with Madrid veterans that could navigate the CL knock rounds and pass on that experience but he played a big role too. Alexis Sanchez' record meanwhile - even at Barcelona - isn't nearly as impressive. Even in the league, Sanchez hit over 20 goals a season only 3 times in his career. Vini's already done it 5 times

Let's compare them after/if we sign Vini and he shows us what he can do. Alexis won us 2 FA cups then buggered off. I sure hope Vini can ellipse that if he comes
