I do agree he can just see out his contract and then leave but they are trying to force him not to. Think he'd also leave on better terms if agreed to join us for a fee. Mbappe left PSG on bad terms hopefully Vini doesn't want that with Madrid.

I think he will hopefully be open to joining us as it sounds like we have spoken to agents and got approval to go for it so that gives me hope but it could also just be him using our interest to try and get better terms.

Until he signs his new deal there is hope.

You're conflating a normal club with a nation state. Real Madrid have sold stars for big sales countless times - from Ozil and Di Maria to Cristiano.

I don't think you understand that players don't have any power to stay at a club where they are not wanted and a bid has been accepted.

The scenarios where a player stays in the final year of his contract is always where the club is desperate to keep him and have him sign on - which is why they risk going into the final year.

If Vini doesn't sign - Real will sell him. The only way he stays without signing a contract is if it turns in the end Real are desperate to keep him, which they aren't as it stands.

He was benched just last season and caused the almighty rift with Alonso. Real have just went and got the biggest managerial personality in club football who will bench whoever the fuck he wants and had a public spat with Vini. He benched club legend and captain Iker Casillas in his first stint - he absolutely can do the same to Vini.

No player is bigger than the club and that's no more true than at Real. That's why all these stars go there and give up 50% of their image rights.

There's only two outcomes here - he signs on at Real's price or he doesn't and gets sold.

daredevil 100% true, Mourinho won't take shit from anyone and if Vini helps him win on the pitch he'll play him, and he if doesn't he'll bench him. he's not going to tow the company line and bench one of the best players in the world if it disadvantages him on the pitch and disrupts the dressing room.

Vini won't be short of good offers.

I'm highly skeptical of most transfer links and our transfer activity in general - but it's clear as day why there is a real chance for us here.

awooga83 Of course if he sees out his contract there will be big competition for his signature and no guarantee he will pick us. He may even re-sign with Real with a few months left on it.

daredevil we aren't getting good offers for Jesus and Nelson because clubs know they won't leave due to their exorbitant wages. we could put a £500k price on both their heads and no one would bid because they know even if we accept, they'd still have to convince the player and if they can't do that then us accepting the bid means sweet fuck all.

You're comparing players who aren't leaving because no clubs bid for them because their wages are too high with a scenario where a club will bid for a player for a players and pay him what he wants. It's not even remotely the same.

The offer has been on the table and unsigned for like 18 months.

The whole issue is Real aren't willing to meet his demands and we are - hence why there is a chance.

daredevil because for Vini, it might not just be about the money. if it were, he'd go to Saudi. so far we have seen no indication at all that he would come here even if we pay him what he wants. none.

my opinion is that the chance of success is so low, that we should be focusing our attention elsewhere (wherever that might be).

daredevil I think it's more the latter, he wants to be the main man at the biggest club in the world. he wants the status, not the money (my opinion) and he won't get that here at Arsenal unfortunately. you only get that status at Real or Barca. we might hate to say it, but to move from Real to Arsenal is a downgrade. to move from Real to just about anyone is a downgrade.
