Qwiss that's why I caveated it if Havertz isn't broken. I personally think it's too early to give up on him but as Claud said, he's someone we should keep an eye on if his problems persist.

I wouldn’t be overly against moving both on and having a complete attacking re-set. Our attacking performances are too erratic.

Build a new attack centred around Dowman’s qualities.

Bring in two different profiles - Alvarez for magic and Esposito for a physically dominant forward. Allow Martinelli to provide another option centrally and bring in a top left attacker to replace/upgrade on Trossard

lorddulaarsenal I don't necessarily agree with your point (apart from Dowman - I think that's too much pressure), but I don't necessarily disagree with it either.

I think it's terrible that after so much investment in the squad, after so many consecutive second place finishes, a potential league win, and with the cups still up for grabs, it's not an outlandish proposal to suggest we need to reset our attack in the manner you describe.

We certainly need a refresh in our attack. I tend to agree with lorddulaarsenal that starting clean from an attacking perspective would be the best way to do it but I just can't see us selling Gyokeres one year after we bought him (even though its what I would do) or Havertz due to his versatility. Also given that it's a World Cup summer, I think there will be less movement than we would need to do a full refresh.

I think you keep one of Gyokeres/Havertz (I'd lean toward Kai since I think he's a better footballer but it depends entirely on if he can stay healthy during this run in), and then bring in Alvarez as our main 9, with VG/KH providing depth along with Merino in a pinch. Alvarez can also play off the left if we want but I'd like him to be our focal point.

Sell Trossard and Jesus and bring in a top dribbling and playmaking threat on the left. Both of them have a similar profile and I think that profile is valuable as a versatile forward that is technical. Yildiz would be my dream fit here but I don't see him leaving. Diomande really looks special to me but he won't be cheap. The Belgian at Ajax, Godts, looks talented as well but not sure if he would be able to come into the EPL and hit the ground running. I also am a fan of N'Diaye but not as our primary LW so I'd only be interested in him if we sold Martinelli and upgraded.

I like Martinelli and don't necessarily think we should sell him but I'd be very interested if the right offer came in. If we did sell him, it would be essential that he is replaced by someone who has elite pace as it's something the squad lacks aside from Gabi and Madueke. I go back and forth on Gordon but I really think he's an upgrade to Martinelli - he has incredible off the ball movement, has shown he can score big goals and isn't shy to take on responsibility and also works his butt off defensively. Bahoya would be another option but he's raw.

Personally, I would feel pretty good if we went into next year with the following attack:
LW: Gordon, N'Diaye, Madueke
ST: Alvarez, Havertz/Gyokeres, Merino
RW: Saka, Madueke, Dowman

Reset is a big word. We probably need to replace Trossard given his age. Just natural squad re-investment. And we should look at another CF given that Gyokeres is at the end of the day a 60m pound striker - you get what you pay for - and Havertz and Jesus have been injured. Don't think we are dealing with some massively incompetent recruiting, especially given the available supply at this end of the market.

Get a striker and keep Gyokeres and Havertz. Gyok can play striker and rotate with the new guy as needed. Havertz can do a utility job in midfield and up front. Its not really more complicated than that.

Let Trossard go and get a new winger who can hurt low blocks. Then we've plenty of wide men.

White out, new RB in. Add a midfielder who Areta is comfortable with playing when Rice or Zubi need a rest.

Upgrade on Kepa.

Do that and we'll be by far the best team in Europe.

I know Kepa is not top notch, but who are we going to sign that will be happy as our #2 that has as much experience as him? (not that it helped v. City) Or would you rather go young as a #2?

I’m really concerned that he’s busted now. Normally when he returns from injury he’s in fine physical condition but not yet.

Love him as a player though but if we can get a top talent in then perhaps that’s for the better

USArsenal I think Liverpool and City both have serious second choice keepers. I wouldn't have know how good Trafford or Marmadshvilli were before they signed them but they are big money, serious signings. We grabbed Kepa on the cheap and all hoped his reputation would translate rather than any recent performances. So I suppose signing someone on the up would be preferable to someone a bit washed up at this stage of our squad building. That said its low on my list and if we get most of the other issues fixed I'd be happy enough.

It would be very Arteta to go from buying extra fullbacks to focusing on reserve goalies, rather than fixing our attack.

Sod it. Use all the budget to get Kvaratskhelia. Current squad plus him is a big improvement

Kvara would solve a ton of problems. I think if I had to choose between him and Alvarez, I'd pick him.

I still think we would need to address the CF spot to take the next step up though. He's shown he can play well with a False 9 and that is really the direction I would like us to go in. I just am tired of watching both us and City play with 10 men for long periods of games due to playing CF's that do not help much in the build-up whatsoever. If Kai can prove to be healthy, I'd be much less concerned but seeing how ineffective he was in duels all match on Sunday has me worried. I've made my thoughts known on Gyokeres - I don't think he's talented enough to be our starting CF and he will always limit the ceiling of our attack.

I'd be willing to spend most of our budget on Kvara and then go for someone like Kroupi or the young Leverkusen CF as a younger budget signing to play behind those two (or sell one).
