Qwiss He's grabbed a few goals but in terms of his all round game he's still incredibly raw.

That could be used to describe both players. The difference being Sesko is 22 and Gyokeres is 27.

Don Pacifico there is a reason one has played nearly every game for the team leading the league, in the CL quarter final, FA cup quarter final and just played a LC final and the other is a sub for a team fighting for a CL spot and in no cup competitions.

Qwiss and that reason is that Gyokeres plays for Arsenal.

Whilst I'm not convinced Gyokeres is markedly better than Sesko (the numbers don't suggest he is) all that really matters is I don't think I'm ever going to be convinced he was a good fit for the way we play (not before we signed him and not now that I've seen him in our team).

Claudius I mostly agree but I think another technically elite 8 cum 10 is a problem to be addressed also, as Odegaard is the only one we have. Eze and Nwaneri are more pure 10s and I don't think Arteta is fully onboard with Eze as a full-time 10.

I think another versatile 8ish could be added as Arteta clearly doesn't trust Norgaard, so Rice could rotate at 6 a bit more often. I don't think Tonali is it though, too similar to Rice and Merino. Should be someone silkier.

HomeSteak the problem is good fitness he's not been able to be available and if we don't think he can improve then we probably should move him on.

I would keep him as well because I'm no longer convinced Arteta would buy an attacking equivalent. More likely to end up with another lock down defender and then wonder why we struggle to build up and retain possession.

This is genuinely a weird season because I don't think we're as good as we were in 22/23 or 23/24 but we're more likely to end up with something this year.

Qwiss every team has a problem with injuries, but at some point when it's persistent, you need to let go. i can't think of injury-prone players who've left London Colney recently and have since pulled up trees. Guys like Tomi, ESR, Nelson, immediately come to mind. White and Jesus would be the guys I'd shift. But would keep an eye on Havertz, Ode etc over the next year

Claudius it would be completely dependant on interest for me. If people are willing to offer real money for either of them I think I'd take it at this point. Another injury plagued season and they wont be sellable with the wages they are on.

wouldn't be against it if its a good deal and we get someone better going forward. if we are going to continue with this inverted / half space fullbacks then get someone (like Califiori) who can really make an impact there... Ben White>Timber attacking-wise but there are better players going forward out there im sure.. Recent Injury record is also another reason

If he wants to go and we get good money, then sure. I suspect our reasons for selling (fitness) will also mean the bids we get are low. So I'd be inclined to keep for a year and see if we can work him back to better fitness. Unless he really really wants to go in which case we take what we can get.

The fullbacks are a real problem for us when it comes to attack, in defence we look solid but going forward we have gone from Zinchenko/White who were both brilliant going forward, Zinchenko was ropey in defence and White was generally solid and only struggled against really tricky wingers. Timber/Hincapie are both solid in defence but going forward not exactly great. No surprise when Calafiori comes in we look so much better straight away.

I'd let Havertz go in a heartbeat if it means signing Alvarez.

But you can't let Havertz leave until a new striker is signed. Can't be relying on Gyokeres and Merino!

MistaT Cannot be relying on Gyokeres period, stank the place out again against City, simply nowhere near good enough for a top class side and gets brutally exposed against top class teams. I'm sure we could find someone better without having to pay £100m.

JazzG absolute agenda driven shite. Gyokeres wasn't the issue against City. If we swapped strikers the game wouldn't have looked much different.

Don Pacifico but he is broken. If one has to go this summer it'd be insane to keep Havertz over Gyok.

I'd rather keep Havertz over Gyokeres as back-up assuming the former isn't broken. He's got his flaws but when he's playing well, I think we look a better team.

our fullbacks are great. this quest to find attacking defenders because your attackers are shit is foolhardy. liverpool FAFO'd with their brilliant fullback signings. there is nothing that can replace great attackers. saka isn't poor this season because ben white was replaced with a superior player. saka is poor because he doesn't have the same explosive power and for our sake i hope he's on the way to recovering it.

if we had better options saka would be getting the foden treatment from arteta.

btw, england will be in a world of hurt this summer if harry kane doesn't carry his bayern form to the world cup. calling up 3 arsenal attackers is like waving the white flag. they better hope saka and rice can consistently put it on slabhead's forehead.

We need better attacking defenders to add to better attacking forwards. The Cup final was literally decided by City's left back who scored twice.

England will be cooked. Saka, Foden, Palmer, Bellingham all off the boil or injured.
