I understand why folks are nervous about City and Liverpool still in this race but from what I have seen this season, I just don't really feel the same. City has relied on Haaland to bail them out all season and while I don't think it's necessarily an unsustainable strategy, their defense looks terrible. I personally thought that this weekend's result was due more to Iraola being naive and playing a suicidal high line against Haaland than City looking anywhere near to their form from the last several years. Similarly, I thought Emery set Villa up terribly to deal with that Liverpool team. We've seen time and time again that they are vulnerable to long balls and fast transitions, yet Emery set them up to do the exact opposite and played right into Liverpool's hands.

Our attacking injuries are piling up, which does concern me, but both the form of both of our rivals does not.

Meatwad Absolutely. He was the luckiest winner in ages, since Ranieri at least. He's annoying and it's good to see him suffering.

They're now sitting behind United and the scum. With one more bad result they'll be in the bottom half of the table ... and Forest do have the firepower to hurt them after the break. Their summer window was a failure, and Salah and Van Dijk look ready to check out. If Slot hadn't won a title he'd be on the road to being sacked by Christmas.

Slot seems like a whiny piece of shit.

However, I hope he complained about the offside. We love to complain about the referees when they fuck up but then laugh when it happens to someone else. I'd like it if managers started speaking up about mistakes that go in their favor as well, but it's kind of a prisoner's dilemma and probably a reason why these shitty refs manage to avoid too much scrutiny.

City were so much better than Liverpool that it wouldn't have mattered, but it shouldn't go unnoticed that this is yet another case on Michael Oliver being in City's corner.
