I am hoping for a win. Like mentioned above we have two additional rest days after CL and IMO a better team at the moment. Haaland is what scares me the most from their team.

Injuries aside, the season started a month ago so I'm really not convinced we can keep using this as an excuse when players/the team underperform.

lorddulaarsenal depends what you mean by peak. They've certainly had enough training time for them not to be using fitness as an excuse for their performances. Players don't need to be in 'peak' fitness to play well, otherwise you'd excuse the majority of the season that way.

If you want to talk about the relationships not being there yet, I sympathise with that perspective but to be using fitness as a way of excusing any underwhelming performances feels a bit redundant after 5 matches.

We are definitely not playing our best football atm. That is also because some of our key players are either missing or have not hit their heights yet. In terms of the whole season we need Saka and Odegaard to be available and at their best.

My view on this game is we are now where City were when they came to us about three years ago and it was 1-1 with half hour left. And then they rolled the tanks, brought on Grealish and (I think) Foden. In the same period, we brought on Nketiah and Nelson.

Of course, they dominated the last half hour and won 3-1.

I think we'll have a bit too much for them on Sunday, we've got so many options now.

Don Pacifico it would be a valid reason not to win if the team we faced somehow had reasons to be in better physical shape than us. They don't.

Don Pacifico at the elite level we’re talking fine margins. Some players are more dependent on being fully conditioned whereas others are not.

There’s no doubt in my mind that we’re yet to see the team at its best because we have key players who are dependent on being fully conditioned whereas I can’t say the same for the opposition.
