Klaus City didn't go out to kill, they got an early goal off of a defensive mistake and Haaland's superior physicality/finishing. Other than that they've been content to sit back and waste time.

Mikel is trying to get us to be more direct – play around the back, beat the press, and launch a galloping attack forward – not unlike the way we played in 22-23. But the personnel is wrong, the team is unbalanced, and it's not working.

CPM That's exactly what I mean. They don't give a shit about possession, they just attack quickly when they get the ball. For about 30 minutes after the goal every single attack cut us open. It's a small mercy we didn't concede more because we looked utterly lost. Guardiola's schooling Arteta today in how you play direct football.
