USArsenal I actually chucked a few dollars on them winning straighter after I posted. With my betting luck that would usually be a jinx but Liverpool scoring in injury time is as sure as night follows day.

dont really rate liverpools performance today. theyre conceding 2 goals per game, and thats with VVD in the side. theyre cooked if he's out for any period this season

Gazza M I don't think anyone rates their performance in any game this season, that's the annoying part of them winning. That being said, I thought this was clearly their best match so far in attack. xPTS was 2.69 to Liverpool and 0.21 to Atletico.

Let's just hope that this is their level and it'll catch up with them vs they've started slow and gotten away with it. I fear it might be the latter and their form picks up once they get the new guys fully integrated.

I get the feeling that Liverpool are in a similar position that we were in last season. Our first XI were quality, and we had a few decent subs. But then we got injuries, and we struggled to put out a 'title winning team' (and we still finished second and got the the CL semi's and pushed PSG pretty well). If Liverpool get a couple injuries to, say, VVD or Salah (or McAllister, etc), they could very well be us from last season. A great starting XI, but not a lot to replace them.

Liverpool have never had good squad depth in their last 10 years of success, and we are the ones falling apart with injuries - not them.
