Its all good with karma for Rooney and the shit show that is currently United.. But he's right. And its glorious for us, but he's right. Utd currently have no direction, no identity, not much of anything. A bunch of expensive 'middling' players that can't seem to get out of their own way. Long may it continue, but it's actually really surprising how far they've fallen.

We really need a few wins though for them, any more losses and they'll get rid and probably make a move for someone like Glasner or Iraola. Though the problems run more deeper than just a coach!

JazzG I think there are very few coaches who can save them at this point. Until there is an institutional upheaval, no manager is getting any joy at that club.

The problems definitely run deeper than the coach, but a coaching change is guaranteed to improve their results.

They could double their points earned per game by simply switching to a 4-2-3-1 or a 3-5-2. Amorim is sabotaging their best players by shoehorning them into a formation that he believes in - largely because it worked in a farmers league when he clearly had the best players.

You can't tell me Fernandes should play in a two man midfield, or that Mainoo-Casameiro wouldn't immediately improve their midfield.

They genuinely need to start from scratch. Become reliably midtable. Push into top 6. Then get into the top 4 and at that point they can hire some glamour names. The United ownership still thinks they are 1 season away from being back in the mix and they make rash decisions as a result.

That's the beauty of it. They wont. They'll hire another manager, give him a group of players with no plan and expect him to turn it around within a year. When he doesn't they'll sack him too.

I think United's squad is decent these days, at least good enough to consistently be top half of the table. It's just very hard to climb up the ladder in the Premier League these days, it's the most competitive its ever been. Everything from management and coaching needs to be on point.
