His technique, pace, defensive abilities, power were top notch

Could count his bad games in 2 hands during his entire stint

I was chatting to a long retired ex Liverpool player when United signed varane he said at Madrid he has to get one or 2 actions right a game. Wait until he's constantly under pressure at United it's different you see the mistakes stack up. He was 100% correct. Looked a completely different player.

Kos was on his own covering everyone with a desperately lazy midfield ahead of him. He was an absolute monster. But like anyone you cover 3 jobs in work and watch the mistakes creep in.

Lauren was seriously cultured on the ball, and a really tough fucker, but he didn't have Sagna's speed and power (and ridiculous aerial ability).

Bacary is definitely our greatest ever right back.

Sagna’s the one player that could fit in easily with the Invincibles or the current team.

Loved Sagna - but those games against Barcelona where they pressed us to have the ball funnel to his side highlighted his deficiencies on the ball. It was unsurprising that we beat them a year later with Eboue dribbling out from the back. Still agree with the general sentiment, though. Timber is a throwback to him.

Surprised to see Sagna getting so much love, as I recall arguing similarly back when he was still playing for us but it was seen as a little bit sacrilegious to leave Lauren out of our GOAT team!

It's just Leeds but to concede only 0.16xg in a PL game is immense.

If the attacking players ahead of them do the necessary, we'll win something big this season. This is the big if and it's up to Arteta to ensure it clicks in attack.

Sol Campbell was terribly physically imposing.

In his prime he would have weighed ten kilos more than most other defenders on this list without giving up any pace, and have been about as close as a footballer would ever get to having Jonah Lomu's physique.

Sol used to regularly slide through players with those massive legs. A lot of his highlights consist of elite forwards desperately trying to get out of his way.
