Burnwinter I think there's a chance we'll see neither against Liverpool. If I had to bet on it I'd go with Martinelli on the left and Nwaneri in place of Ødegaard. I'm just not sure Arteta is going to start Ebs after one week of training.
Longterm I'm sure Eze will be on the left though.
Eze should be ready fitness wise so not impossible that he starts. If both Ode and Saka are out, would go for some like..
Madueke/ Martinelli- Gyokeres - Nwaneri Eze - Zubi - Rice
So good to see him at the stadium. Very excited to have him. With Odegaard and Saka out there's no time to ease in as we already probably need him to start straight away. But that's the point if all the signings, so the whole house doesn't fall down with a couple of injuries.
Eze is going to sauté at The Carpet
Could watch him all day.
Geezer’s going to win England the World Cup
He has such natural charisma as well. Most football players are awkward as fuck but when the guy came out onto the pitch he took it in his stride. I’m going to say it now, he will be a legend for us. Just a gut feeling.
Sicario2 a typical big call from you - but I'm with you on it. I think he's going to make us all very happy indeed.
Worth signing him for the feel good factor alone. You can see what it meant to him. He’s fit and has played this season, so I see no problem with putting him in right away.
Eze made it happen 🥹 he had to know before he signed for Spurs if there was any chance with Arsenal. He really is 1 of us and well done to Arteta too for convincing the board. https://archive.ph/hZP1Z
Absolutely no doubt in my mind that he is gonna prove on the pitch that his new manager did the right thing.
Crazy that both Eze and Gyokeres held out for us this summer. Really hope it makes the difference at the end of the season.
Panda Crazy that both Eze and Gyokeres held out for us this summer.
Don't forget Zubimendi as well, he insisted on Arsenal over impressive rivals. We've never had this much clout.
Eze, Nelson, Saka, MLS, Nwaneri, Dowman, Salmon
Hale end has produced some real quality.
Burnwinter I talk shit about Arteta and his football style, but I absolutely have to give him credit for this. He’s put us right back on top of the list of preferable destinations for top footballers. We do have a different knock these days. Kudos to him.
He's got such fantastic ball striking and finishing off either foot.
flobaba Real Madrid games helped massively imo
flobaba yeah, as much as we complain about the playing style, clearly the players enjoy the system and playing under Arteta.
Think about this for a moment. Adding Eze to our squad will take its estimated overall value to €1.37bn. Madrid's is only €1.4bn. We're massive now.
As most folks have been saying on the other thread, no more excuses for MA.
JazzG It's like one of those WWF/ WWE entrances.
Like someone pointed out, as he makes his entrance, the Emirates ad on the Tier LED reads "it's not just about the destination, it's how you get there". Surely not planned but a beautiful coincidence nonetheless. Such a feel good signing.
Rohit Good choice getting rid of that tunnel as well, wouldn’t be able to create that entrance with that tunnel leading on the pitch.
Supposedly Arteta asked for it to be removed, he thought the tunnel muffled the crowd noise and he wants the emirates to feel louder when opposition walk onto the pitch.
Is it me or is this transfer surreal in how it took 3 days effectively to happen? I know we courted him throughout the summer but nothing super concrete until Wed and then BANG
If only all transfers could be like this and less like Rice/Gyokeres. Would save us so much time/stress
Where do we think he'll play next week given our injuries? I had thought he'd slot straight in at LW. If Ode was out and Saka was fine I'd have gone midfield but with them.both out I'm not so sure.
