I was just thinking that we played our best football when we had multiple players that had the skill to beat their man and power to get past them. Early Wenger teams had too many to even list here. Even his later teams that came close to winning had these players- Hleb, Diaby, Ramsey, Alexis, Cazorla, Rosicky(although he was more pass-powerful off the ball burst-receive player, but accomplished the same thing).
Recent times bar Saka(who has been double and triple marked and isolated on the wing) we've only really had Gabriel Jesus and even with all his flaws, we've probably played our best attacking football with him on the pitch.
Right now we're getting a huge influx of powerful and direct dribblers all over the pitch. The squad is getting stacked- Saka, Eze, Nwaneri, Madueke, Dowman, Rice, Gyökeres. Even Zubimendi can surprise with a few from time to time. Martinelli when he's firing on all cylinders. And then you add Calafiori, MLS, Timber and White who are also capable of going on dribbly runs.
Really hope that this positive trend of having more and more players that are capable and willing to beat their man and drive towards the goal can finally kill the Horseshoe of Death™ and seriously improve the level and aesthetics of our attacking play this season.
