Merino is preferred to him in all midfield roles. Merino has actually been 1 of our better performers recently so I get it but I think Arteta is being very inflexible again.

He's currently fixed on Marti/Tross for LW, Gyok/Jesus for CF and Ode/Rice/Merino for the 8 roles. With Eze last choice in the 8. And not a look in at LW.

Qwiss I don’t buy that. He started from min zero v Palace (cup) and Pomey and offered little. You need to take these small opportunities and force the managers hand. Even if you come on for 20 mins you got a chance to prove something and again yesterday, nothing. This is more on Eze than Arteta. Eze will likely start v Inter, let’s see what he does.

eze hasnt been great in his recent sub appearances, but the way arteta eradicated his minutes after the game at villa Park doesn't exactly scream great man management either.

Good performance, love that he never just defaults to the easy/obvious pass... with a few more around him that play quick one touch football like Kai and Calafiori, could start to shine..

Coasts too much - doesn’t take the bull by the horns. Not a protagonist. Still thinks he’s plays for Crystal Palace at times. Standards and scrutiny are a lot higher here - needs to step up. Can do so much better.

he needs to show why he was signed over the next 3 months. arteta may have a life sapping structure - for both arsenal players and opponents - but aside from that he couldn't ask for better conditions to thrive in.

I think we should move on in the summer. He wasn't a good fit anyway and he hasn't been able to use his brilliance to over come that. We need to just admit we tried it and it didn't work. We'd almost certainly recoup what we paid for him if we sold him this summer too. Most PL teams would love to have him.
