Ridiculous discussion. His path here is irrelevant. Players develop non-linearly and different from each other. What he was like at Coventry means fuck all. What matters is what kind of player he is now, and I think he'll do well. Individually I reckon he'll have a solid season, but his impact on the team structure will be very significant. We'll finally have some presence in the box, and a striker that can really make life hard for defenders. He is strong, he makes good runs, he is a very good finisher and he is relentless. Defenders probably hate playing against him.
