Doubt it. The good part of all this is that we can follow comrade Claudie's recommendation when it comes to player transfers and fail very fast. It's clear this relationship isn't going anywhere, and we are doing well despite him. Perfect opportunity to move on quickly. We have to make sure our aim is right next time though.

Sicario2 He was supposedly shit yesterday, he is very raw and clear needs a lot of work to get him up to scratch. At least there is something there to work with, with Gyokeres being 27 I don't see much scope for improvement.

Not for me, if he doesn't significantly improve (which I doubt he will), this is massive fuck up... it's all well fans being blinded by the millions of goals he scored in it shit league but how does a top club even do basic research on a player and think someone with his technical level would succeed here, he is not even at a premier league level at this rate... shows a serious failing somewhere...

A serious review needs to happen, especially with Berta.. I know many on here love this guy because he went out and 'got the job done' and bought loads of players but none of them have set the world alight, now that may change with some of the other signings (again doubtful) but if it doesn't, it will only take a couple more window like this and we could undo all the good work that has happened in the last few years.. We were in a position in the summer where the first team was already good enough to win the league, so incomings only being good enough as back up players is ok right now, that wont always be the case...

Sicario2 no. We'd be stuck for years waiting for him to develop. Plus he's just a poor mans Kai. At least Gyojeres gives us tactical flexibility.

Meatwad Top clubs need to have good players in the pipeline and with Havertz leading our line we possibly could have had a top class prospect shadowing him. Ideally we sign someone to bench Havertz but the only one who moved this summer who could do that was probably Isak and he came with his own issues.

It's areal shame but the signs aren't good for Viktor. It's especially galling for me as I overpaid massively for him in my Fantasy League Classic auction game. At least I picked up Havertz unopposed a month ago.

The good thing about this guy is that he has a massive ego and will probably feel like it's us holding him back, not vice versa and so he should be easy enough to move along in the summer if we choose to do it - and we should absolutely choose to do it. The guy is a dud. Cut our losses early and go for someone else.

I'd like to see us go for Paz and Yildiz this summer. And then convert one of them into a 9 - having Havertz allows us some liberty to experiment like this. Heck I'd even give Martinelli a go up front again, I remember being astounded with his arial ability when he first game onto the scene and then that part of his game just died until Pompey on Saturday so he could well end up being the answer we're looking for even if his finishing is shit. Basically anyone but Gyokores next season please.

These are poor stats. Hopefully, he improves as season progresses. Seems to be getting balls in good positions but that is probably also an outcome of our overall field tilt rather than some superior movement from him

Let's see what happens. Adaptation to our league isn't the easiest and he's shown a bit more promise at times. However if there isn't clear improvement by summer, arguably he's not even backup quality. At least his wages were reported as not being fully ridiculous. In the meantime, pray for Havertz.

He cost £55m. The hyperbole of calling his signing a "massive fuck up" when he cost that and we are top of the league with him being part of the team that has us there is just ridiculous. I'm so sick of the extreme reactions to everything and everyone.

berta is responsible for viktor, but he's also responsible for mosquera.

zubi was wrapped up before him so i can understand not giving him credit for that signing. the rest were signed to do what they're currently doing: provide us with great depth and allow us to overcome injuries. shit, kai getting hurt in the first game prevented us from seeing if viktor himself was meant to provide depth.

Meatwad Yup, I do get Berta was probably under pressure to get a CF and saw him as the best realistic choice. As poor as Gyokeres has been we have been without Havertz and Jesus most of the season so we needed a CF but clearly have signed the wrong one.

No person is going to have 100% success rate but Gyokeres one is a bit worrying, sounds like the clubs scouts didn't rate him but Berta pushed it through. Probably needs to understand the people we have at this club right now have a pretty good eye for talent.

We keep forgetting Gyok needs time to adjust. Ektike is one of a few forwards that hit the ground running this year. If Kai was starting more and giving Gyok the chance to close games off or rest, he'd be doing better.

I can see him scoring in a champions league final after coming on as a sub so I'll be patient. I'll judge him at end of year at least

Successful transfer rate is about 30% (a figure pulled from where the sun doesn't shine, so YMMV). Everyone makes mistakes.

Qwiss £65m. as addons are pretty much guaranteed from what was reported, that's not nothing... not that it matters... no one here or anywhere assumed he was being signed as a backup.. it was the one priority in the summer to sign a a first team striker, the most important signing and they got it really really wrong... the idea that there was no one else is just not true also, he was the priority.

Doc Wirtz, Ekitike, Isak, Sesko and Joao Pedro all moved in the same summer. Of those, only Joao Pedro was in a similar price range - and they have similar stats. Actually of that group, only Ekitike has really taken off. Gyok isn’t amazing but the overall context shows forwards are struggling to make a big impact.
