DiabyKungFu I'm not even the biggest Kai Havertz fan in the world, but hopefully he can come back to the player he was so he can at least show Arsenal fans that "battling with the centerbacks" and "controlling the football" are not either/or things. It is possible to do both.

Well the question work is signing someone like Gyokeres was well Arteta adapt the way we play to try to get the best out of him. The assumption was yes because without that the signing makes no sense but it doesn't look like that was his plan. That would make the signing more difficult to understand.

I think a lot of the enthusiasm about the signing came from thinking that it would force us to change style. IMO that was clearly wishful thinking.

awooga83 that was the expectation from my end at least, that there was no way we would sign a player like him and continue playing the same way. We signed a 9, to play him like a false 9. That's just dumb.

Gyokeres has been shit though. No doubt about that.

Sicario2 He was supposedly shit yesterday, he is very raw and clear needs a lot of work to get him up to scratch. At least there is something there to work with, with Gyokeres being 27 I don't see much scope for improvement.

The one we missed out on was Ekitike...

Sicario2 no. We'd be stuck for years waiting for him to develop. Plus he's just a poor mans Kai. At least Gyojeres gives us tactical flexibility.
