est no it’s not. When was the last time Martinelli produced stats like that or Sterling from last season? Taking on players is not easy. It’s the first step, the next step is assists. Madueke is unlucky as he would have got an assist for that Gyokeres shot that hit the post.

Not always that black and white though, some contributions can't be seen by stats. If the guy terrorises the full back all game, forces the team to shift their focus towards him and creating more space for others that means he is doing a good job.

I do agree it is early days for Madueke though, has plenty to do but a promising start. We needed a bit of a live wire type wide player, I'd love to see him perform on the left for as well.

Sicario2 Need at least 15 games before we start comparing stats, only been 4 games. Shots stat is down quite a bit though, Arteta no doubt 😉

Not just the Gyokeres assist, but the play sequence where Murillo got hurt putting in a last ditch tackle as well.

He will get his numbers y'all, just calm down. Even if based solely on law of averages due to the volume of crosses he is able to put into the box.

Don Pacifico pretty much. Been good, much more exciting than I expected, and caused problems for the defenders but another game has passed without a goal involvement. Something similar to Trossard's output seems reasonable when he's essentially taken his place in the pecking order. Trossard has barely played and already has a goal and a couple of assists interestingly.

It’s the intangible aspect he brings too. Out play is far more adventurous with him in the eleven. That lifts the vibe and energy amongst both the players and fans.

Burnwinter fair. Think that's a different lens from how I'm seeing it. My sense is that if all players are fit, Saka is the only forward getting more minutes in the front three than Madueke. That coupled with what we're explicitly looking to achieve this season means I expect him (and Gyokeres for that matter) to be better than decent. The early signs are positive but consistency + end product are the next step.

Don Pacifico Reckon the level we should demand is the £50m level we paid for, not the £100m level. 10–15 GA from 2000 league minutes would be that. You'll get a lot of £40–60m players putting up those per-90s in this league now, and we can see Madueke's got traits other than end product. Now what we hope for is different, sure ....

Yeahhh, I'm kind of with Jazz on this one.

Of course Noni will need end product, especially if in direct competition with an end product machine like Saka.

However, if he continues to terrorise his full back like he did on Saturday, then the pressure he puts on the opposition defence will create opportunities for the rest of the forward line with his relentlessness. It also opens up the opportunity to sit Saka down for an hour, before being able to unleash him on a traumatised defence.

And vice versa.

Personally can't stand attacking players who don't add end product.

Don't care if you're the best in training, or able to terrorize a fullback, if at the end of the day you're not efficiently contributing a G/A with the minutes you're provided. I would rather a technically limited player who contributes (say Theo) than a glossy player with no end product (Hleb).

Does need to improve his end product but I’ll or this player - always trying and always willing to take his man on. Will only get better. Our player of the season so far for me.

Really? Madueke, as good as he's been has no goal involvements yet despite playing every game, yet you have him as player of the season? A season which is 4 or 5 games old.

The goals/assists are bound to come hopefully well but the double standards are baffling. At the same time in the other thread you downplay Martinelli's contribution by saying the keeper should have saved his goal (he also assisted a goal btw).

Madueke been a breath of fresh air and has exceeded expectations massively. The goals and assists will come. Reason why he is in the team and Mart is not.

Mart is now a super sub, coming off the bench against tired defenders. Maybe the competition will get the best of him finally.

Madueke will be one of the first attackers on the teamsheet when we play City.

Coombs he’s been our most dangerous outlet and most of our attacking threat has come through him. Much, much better than some mugs thought he was going to be so credit to him.
