The list of players better than our wingers now isn't the same as last summer and it won't be the same again next summer. There's always a few.
Noni was my biggest disappointment among our signings over the season. But Eze was supposedly a LW option and hasn't even played there. I predicted that last summer, because this has been how it goes with wingers at Arsenal that aren't Saka, and Eze despite his gifts just couldn't do the job.
Nine tenths of the job is thankless supporting or defensive runs and the other tenth is trying to do something very very difficult in heavy traffic. Trossard is still the only player who's really benched Martinelli since Emile had that purple patch, but since at least 21–22 I've been reading Gabi doesn't cut it.
Check the names next summer. If Semenyo doesn't score a bag he'll be as quietly forgotten as Mohammed Kudus. We'll see what happens with the rest.
