I have always hated his little jagged stutter runups to pennos.. run up to it and put your foot through the damn thing.

USArsenal Right, it's 15 yards. Just put the boot through that sucker and it's nearly impossible for the keeper to get down in time no matter how badly you place it, especially a big bloke like Torriani.

RowJimmy write-off, no, but we need another serious option at 8 who's also a different profile. Him and Odegaard are by no means perfect.

He could have taken a shit in the centre circle and people would be saying he delivered a golden egg. He looked comfortable at this level and clearly has great technical ability but I'd leave the superlatives for when they are really warranted. I'd say he might get a few minutes here and there this season but won't be used otherwise.

He was really comfortable and confident. The fearlessness of youth. He was happy to take people on and try things. Popped up on the right and through the centre. It was a really impressive debut in the senior team. And he took a very good penalty to cap it all off.

Pepe LeFrits he dribbled past the Milan defence a couple of times in a way that was reminiscent of his play with the U18s. Its exciting to see him step up to playing against top players and still doing those things. His confidence is amazing, kid has serious aura too. Its not like he took over the match but given his age looking so confident and at home with those players was really impressive. I hope he'll get some time off the bench in the cups if we get some favourable draws, maybe even in the CL against non-top 5 league sides.

Yep, despite all the hype, and the performance was very assured, he is still 15. I'm sure the club will manage his career appropriately. He's got a long way to go but the first glimpses are promising.

Hopefully he is still with us at the start of the 2029-30 season. When he will still be a teenager.

flobaba Individually Timber is a better player. Yet to see whether he has the same multiplier effect on those around him with the chemistry and combinations he brings as White does. He can be the better player and still not the best option.

Tam It boils down to strengths. Timbers strengths are his one v one defending, ability to drive/dribble out of defence/midfield with the ball, and calmness that allows him find a pass out of pressure. Benny combines better in final third, and has those through passes to Saka on lock. Arteta will always, always go for a fullback who is good at defending over one who is good at going forward. That’s why Zinchenko has been supplanted by MLS. That’s why Tomiyasu was starting over White and Zinchenko when he was fit.

Klaus there is no reason why Odegaard should be taking penalties for us in future. Saka, Gyo, Havertz are all top penalty takers.
