Don Pacifico I could relate with this thought if the player in question was in his twenties. Nørgaard will turn 32 before the upcoming season ends. I can completely understand the emotion. He is coming towards the end of his career and this move ensures his CV will look very different at the end of it all. If anything I personally enjoy the sentimentality, even if excessive. It's a bit lost.

Don Pacifico I think players have a very narrow window in their career when they can join a top club, he probably thought that ship had sailed and was probably thinking about his retirement plans now!

Now he is here I hope he makes the most of it. Plenty of cup games and injuries can happen.

Yeah he seems like a genuinely decent and humble human being, more than we can say for some of our (ex) players. Hopefully he will be like a well needed cleanse.

I am sure he won't be too overawed playing for us as he has plenty of time to settle in. After seeing his welcome video I am now really rooting for him to have a positive contribution to a trophy or 2 whilst he is here.

I've been wondering if this guy will ever get an appearance, and when? We are looking at Fulham, Simeone Madrid, Crystal Palace as our next 3 in league and champions league, then Carabao Cup vs Brighton. I don't see Arteta giving either Zubi or Rice a break for any of these games...

flobaba if he's fit he probably plays against Brighton. That injury has been a big blow to his start to the season.

He's coming back to fitness/match sharpness. My hope would be that he becomes a finisher for us.

lorddulaarsenal yeah exactly. He's had a good solid career and played plenty. We often see it the other way around where someone has a good career at a top club but leaves and goes down a level to be the main man somewhere, for Norg he's had that, its time for him to be a part of a team battling for trophies, playing the likes of Bayern, Real, Barca, etc. He'll retire in a few years having very few regrets.

In theory he is here to take the Jorginho minutes, around 700 per season. But it turns out, Arteta trusts him even less, has played 14 minutes so far lol. 1 minute vs Fulham and 13 vs Burnley.

But once we run Rice and Zubimendi into the ground and they get injured he will up his minutes, maybe

You’d think he’d be perfect to bring on in a physical, non technical game against opposition he knows very well.

I mean, we'll find out what Norgaard's for when Zubimendi gets injured, no doubt (not Rice, that'd probably result in Trossard, Havertz, Eze or Merino getting used in midfield). It's not like he's a bad, bad player, but we knew he was a good level and a half down on our starters.
