I think people are underrating Norgaard a bit. He had 9 G/A in the league last year (one more and he'd be a £50m+ winger). He was a key player for Brentford who are a good side. Despite his age he's still got a good engine and can get around the pitch much better than Jorginho, maybe even Partey. His passing isn't expansive but its solid. I don't think he'll be an issue if he has to slot in here and there.

122 games in the PL, 120 of them as a starter, 200 games in english football overall. Capitan of a very good team, all these games at a very good team. A lot to like about this move, as a squad option, very important that. He will replace Jorghino who played 700 PL minutes for us (Nogaard played 2800 minutes last season), 2 year deal, 6 mil per year salary, Jorghino had 5.5 mil per year. Considering the spending we are doing right now on the team can't ask for a lot more from the club.

Give him all the cup minutes and close games with him, I'm sure he will do well. Welcome

It's his chance at a big club coming late in his career so I'm hoping he's hungry. We've been limp in the cups for years under Arteta; need a bit of fire in our backups.

Still don't think Nørgaard is Arsenal quality but he's a very intelligent, reliable player and a warrior in the duels. Bendtner compared him to Arteta as a player which I think is pretty spot on. Like others mention, he'll be perfect for when Arteta wants to activate terrorist ball and defend a lead. Not one to put on when we're chasing though.

Watching that video and the one of him in the car looking at his jersey are great. Hopefully it doesn't make him nervous and instead gives him another 10% to find the best form of his career with us.

Don Pacifico No, this was his last chance to play at this level and he probably thought it would never happen for him. Probably why he jumped at the chance to join us. He's just having his moment so let him enjoy it.

JazzG yeah, but I don't think I've ever seen us sign a player who so obviously didn't think he would play for a team of our level. It's quite jarring.

Anyways, it's a minor point, just stands out.

Don Pacifico yeah, I know what you mean. No big deal, of course, and it could also be a positive because I can imagine him leading our league cup squad out with the intensity that they’ve lacked past few years.

I imagine he’d struggle in the CL though.

Don Pacifico I could relate with this thought if the player in question was in his twenties. Nørgaard will turn 32 before the upcoming season ends. I can completely understand the emotion. He is coming towards the end of his career and this move ensures his CV will look very different at the end of it all. If anything I personally enjoy the sentimentality, even if excessive. It's a bit lost.

Don Pacifico I think players have a very narrow window in their career when they can join a top club, he probably thought that ship had sailed and was probably thinking about his retirement plans now!

Now he is here I hope he makes the most of it. Plenty of cup games and injuries can happen.

He probably never thought he'd be playing for a top tier club. Hope he does really well here, seems a good guy.
