Zubi seems like a great passer but is anyone concerned about his lack of ball winning skills? Seems a bit light in that aspect, not sure if opponents will see that as a major weakensss for us. Newcastle first goal prime example of that

I notice an interesting dynamic where him and rice alternated who was positioned ahead of the other. having 2 midfielders that can switch from 6 to 8 as the game requires is a huge plus. throw eze in on the left and unleash all 3 in a rotational whirlwind

Gazza M class act, but look at that lovely pass to Rice at around 50 seconds. The latter didn't know what to do with that quick pass to his feet inside the box. He's just not a natural high up.

New favourite player. He’s just so damned intelligent and elegant in the way he plays. He is extremely press resistant, sets the tempo always making the correct decision in scenarios he faces. Will massively improve us, game intelligence but also management, knowing when to slow the game down and when to pick up the pace. Making the right pass not the one that might look the most pleasing on the eye.

Zubimendi has been looking good in preseason. He uses the ball quickly and precisely, and looks for one-two combinations when he gets forward in a way we've infrequently seen from our 6. Quite like the idea of Zubimendi as our 6 when transitioning to attack and Rice as our 6 when there's a turnover.
