I wish Arteta would just go back to his instincts when signing players. That's what I feel he did with Jesus and Zinchenko, just said fuck it - I want to bring in some good footballers, were they limited in other areas? sure, but was probably the best level we could bring in at the time and they improved the collective level of the team, because they are simply, good footballers..
Now it feels like he has gone into some crazy 5Head tactico mode, were each player needs to be a top 0.5% in some specificity ability for a problem he thinks needs solving, whether it's Madueke in dribbling, Norgaard on set prices or Viktor on god knows what.... Just go out and buy good fucking footballers, with elite ball control and passing and most of those problems will sort themselves out... go speak to Wenger, he'll tell you what is needed there... I know he knows how to, especially when looking at the attack, eye test is just as important as stats.. still time to turn it around with one proper signing on the left and then upgrades on players exiting in Jan.
I still think he can be a top class manager but he needs to know his limitations, the system does make us a bit more rigid but imo it is worth it in terms of the payoff in every thing else, but to balance that out you need the ballers in the offence that can produce the unpredictability needed to have a great attack.
