The problem isn't that Martinelli can't beat his man, it's that he needs to beat him 2 or 3 times because he starts his dribbles so ludicrously far away from the opponents goal. He's devastating one-versus-one when he's on the goal line driving into the box, which is where he used to spend a lot more time. You'd see a lot more goals and assists if that's actually where he got to play. He gets that chance like once per game if he's lucky in the current setup, and when it doesn't come off he gets slaughtered by the fans because its a 100% failure rate for the match.
