Man City look all over the place which helps our cause. Our biggest competitive advantage over them is the fact they still need to go all out in CL. @daredevil how was resting those players in CL go?

lorddulaarsenal I started watching in 2008 - so for me, having never seen our heyday, what he has done is genuinely awe-inspiring. Especially important to note that his errors have not been eggregiously expensive (yet). He has also tried to affect the broader culture in and around the club - something you can actually see very tangible in how the fans treat this team vs e.g. the Mustafi era lot.

P.S. the looser yank purse helps too

lorddulaarsenal we shouldn’t get carried away but over two legs we will be super hard to beat in Europe especially with the second legs at home. Win the league and I think the CL will be like a free hit and would mean we would be extremely, extremely dangerous.

Beaten Inter, Bayern and Atletico convincingly so far, in the CL you need a bit of luck but we are looking solid so far

JazzG the real competition is the knockouts, this is great set of results but pretty meaningless when it gets serious. That's when we've got to deliver, we looked good last season as well but our lack of goals on a consistent basis cost us in a big moment.

We might not be overwhelmingly brilliant, but guaranteeing the second leg is at home will be a major boon in the coming round of 16 ... and beyond, if we get there.

Due to our defence and organisation, we'll have a decent chance of bringing a solid result back to London, giving us a platform to arm-wrestle our opposition into submission with home advantage. Any club we take on will be scared of giving up first leg goals.

We look very very solid and hard to beat. But this is a knockout comp, and teams with superstar attackers could still hurt us - Yamal, Mbappe, Dembele etc. But still I'm bloody happy and still kind of shock at where we sit so far.

Hope we haven’t peaked too early in the CL. Remember we beat PSG comprehensively and they didn’t even make the top 8. Doesn’t take anything away from this accomplishment but the real work is yet to come!

we got to the semis having a front three of Merino, Ethan and Leo (who at the time was 2nd strong to Gabimart).

FEBravo True but I don't think as a side we have peaked yet either, still plenty of room for improvement especially in our attacking play.

PSG did find their balance but they also had the league near enough wrapped up by the knockout phases and were able to heavily rotate their team to keep their team fresh in the CL. I also think we beat them if we had our players available....
