Pepe LeFrits exactly. It will end the same way. Imagine him telling Vinicius/Mbappe that the foggin standards require that they defend like Saka or Martinelli. Plus the only trophy he'd have to weight his words with would be that one fluke FA Cup. They'd laugh him out of the dressing room, and the Madrid press? Nah.

you can't require that mbappe defend like saka or martinelli when he's better than both of them combined. you carry a player like that. if you're a good system coach you design a system where mpabbe is free of real defensive responsibilities. and you sell vinicius he isn't consistent enough to carry.

GooneriC even at Arsenal it took him around 2 years to stamp his authority on the club while results suffered. He won't get even 2 months at Madrid to do the same.

Meatwad the problem with Mbappe isn't that he doesn't want to track back (that's true of all superstars on some level) but that he wants the circus designed around him. Luis Enrique called him out on it publicly.

In the end, Mbappe leaving PSG looks like the best thing that happened to them. Meanwhile Madrid went from winning the CL to a car crash off the pitch - even though Mbappe's numbers are incredible. You can cater to the whims of one player as long as it doesn't hurt the remaining 10 - so far Mbappe hasn't proven that.
