A setback was always likely at Villa Park. They've lost 1 match in 26 in the league there. A draw would've been a decent result given the match we just watched ... and then we fucked it up at the very death.
For the fans it's a shit show, for the players and manager it's a tough mental challenge.
Arteta needs to protect the returning players, stop willfully breaking his toys and find ways to get more out of Gyökeres, Madueke and others. We also need to get a bit of joy back into our football.
We've had Martinelli, Trossard, Gyökeres, Rice, Saliba, Saka and Gabriel all either burnt out and injured, or hovering on the edge of it lately. That situation isn't helping us. Tactical adjustment, rotation and subs need to be there and we need to forget about Brugge.
