I've got a lot of time for the way Arteta talks about Arsenal, both then and now. Not all the top clubs get this. The neutrals might be being coached to hate us by the pundits, but players want to join Arsenal because of this energy.

tazmania it was also fact you could see we were having a bit of a momentum issue in the second half but he seemed scared to make any changes and that goes for 3 at once which I never love in terms of helping the team adjust.

Stakes have shifted slightly for me. I think Arteta has to win the league now or we should move him on.

If Arteta somehow leads us to squibbing the league but then we beat PSG, I'll celebrate like a madman and I'll praise him to the skies for doing for Arsenal what no coach has ever done … but I don't think I can tolerate Guardiola staging a stunt retirement to try to disrupt our title run and that actually working.

That motherfucker Pep and his arrogant reprobate Etihad horde have got to be stopped. For me that's now Arteta's job description until the end of this season. Fucking get it or get out Mikel.

I find this such a dilemma because the man has managed 58 games this season and done great in aggregate and two games will decide it all. I genuinely find the 1st or nothing attitude hard to stomach. Not that there isn't any merit to it but rather than it's not a two horse competition and there is something to be said about beating everyone bar one.

I'm not convinced someone will be great across all 60 unless it's Pep or Enrique. So I get the argument but I'm not open to the idea if it's all of the options that were suggested on here in the past - from Potter to Ten Hag

Evidently there can never be many sound reasons to shift a first-time Champions League-winning coach, but "no matter how much we invest in his highly specific demands, it hasn't stopped this coach from leading us to a painful second-placed league finish four times in a row" would be up there among those reasons for me.

If he wins either of them, he gets more time from me. The year where we lost when city went on that insane run showed me he can make us play. I think a win will not only liberate the team but also Arteta.

Yeah I felt that way till we got this far. The stakes just changed for emotional reasons. Dunno what else to say, that's just how it is for me. The screw tightened.

For me it's PL+CL double first choice and failing that then either PL/CL, I'm not too picky. I just want at least 1 win from the last two games and I will be over the moon.

If we lose both (a draw with Palace is a loss for me if City win tonight) and end up with nothing it would be gut wrenching. Probably the most disappointing ending to a season ever. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Its crazy how we are here with one league game to go and this thread is at pretty much the same place it started. Win one of the two big trophies or that's it.

RocktheCasbah I'm pretty convinced we are going to win at least one trophy now but if we don't it'll become very hard to have any belief in him going forward. Agree the board wont sack him but I think he'll lose a lot of the crowd.

RocktheCasbah Right, and it's just my point of view. It's unthinkable he'll be sacked. On the other hand, if we really don't win the league from here ... and on the other hand, we might be champions in a few hours.
