I can't stand what Arteta is up to but celebration policing him is ridiculous. You can see how tense and nervous he is, and how he lives every moment on the pitch (for better or worse). Makes our legitimate gripes look stupid when the critique is so petty.

Coombs our legitimate grievances look stupid regardless because they were all well known to everyone bar him. They also look stupid because even when we finish 2nd eventually the guy will get an extension anyway.

The celebration is indicative of his neurotic mindset that every game is a cup final when they aren't. Even if we manage to grind out five ugly 1-0 wins like yesterday we will likely lose out on GD

Claudius I haven't seen what he's done yesterday but generally yes absolutely, there's a reason he gets canned so often.

Guys a lunatic who's impossible to work with by all accounts, a protector of predators and doesn't even win trophies to make up for all his shortcomings. Sorta familiar isn't it.

Whilst I don't disagree with your first sentence, there are two issues I have with your second sentence.

We have genuine athleticism. If anything it is the one thing we have over indexed on in terms of recruitment and in terms of our approach to winning games.
If you think us at their stadium is their easiest remaining game, then isn't that a scathing assessment of us?

Even if we assume City won't win out, do you think we will win out, given points 1 and 2?

Rohit I wouldn't mind it if he were red carded today and sat in the stands for one match.

My biggest issue with him is the constant hand waving and instructions from the sideline, sometimes to a pass.

I think he is transmitting nervousness to a side which already carries the burden of near misses and the long wait for a title. For one match I just wish he sat down and let his team that he should trust play some football.

It's disgusting. They are professional athletes. Give them instructions before the match, and just let them play.

Kel Varnsen Exactly , these are professional players , the idea that he needs to constantly coach from the sidelines is ridiculous. All he needs to do is make the adjustments if things don't go to plan.

Well, he definitely is a proponent of a robotic football, our general play feels like non-stop set piece, which in a sense speaks well about him I guess, as he can make team play the way he wants and IMO he does it really well. However I have a big issue with how he wants the team to play. There is a small probability that he would loosen up a bit having won a big trophy and I even think it is somewhat likely that he would, but at the same time I think it is more likely than not that we are not going to win a league and I am not giving us any chance ( well maybe 10%) to win against a winner of left side of a bracket.

FEBravo But he is the most important, the bulb and other similar stuff is cringe af for sure. I wish he addressed the issue of poor passing and creativity instead of wasting time for team bonding exercises. Nobody in the team can pass a fucking ball at a level required and somehow team spirit or whatever you want to call it is prioritized.

Tbf he is the most important cog. Before Arteta we were grateful to finish top 4, people underestimate how important a manager is to turning a club around. Just have to look at Carrick.

Take Arteta out and I think we’re back in the era of hoping to finish top 4. It’s a bit like when Spuds got rid of Poch because he didn’t win them a CL, now look at them…
