QuincyAbeyie I guess they're individual forms of brilliance. But they're not representative of a dominant team performance for me. Again, it's gradations - I thought we were very good after the first goal but not the best performance at the Emirates; I'd want to see more over the 90.
Couldn't care less how we win a game, just my perspective on how to measure a performance.
Claudius I'm not disputing we were better. That goes without question. But the xG matched what I saw over the 90 in that we were only superior by 1 xG. Thought we were even with (maybe even slightly worse than) Madrid until our first goal. Then we controlled the game as they started to take more risks.
Tam Saka had several dangerous balls across the six yard box begging for a a touch from anyone - attacker or defender - that could easily have turned it in.
To each their own but a cross into a dangerous area isn't equivalent to a proper chance if there's no player there to take a shot on goal. At least, not for me.
Tam In a world where you are theoretically discounting Rice’s two goals, I’m adding two of those chances above back in to keep it at 3-0.
Madrid had a few decent openings too but they didn't take them.
We were the better team on the night but for me, it wasn't the domination others have articulated.
