Benzema is better than Rooney.

Some of u are seriously underrating Benzema here IMO.

His mentality might be an issue, but there is no doubt he's an elite talent. You just have to look at his CL record to see the kind of talent we are talking about here. He's been banging them in and tormenting top class defenders(still remember his performance against Vidic and Ferdinand) in that competition since his teenage years - very few players are capable of doing that.

He's one of the most complete forwards out there - equally effective in a counter attacking team or a possession based team. Even in an up and down season like last season, only Iniesta provided more assists in the league than him. He's a creator and a goalscorer(left foot, right foot, head - no problem); about 20 assists, 20 goals last season.

He should be a far better player than he's at the moment though, but let's not forget Madrid are one of the most difficult clubs to play for. Anelka left us as a quality young striker and totally lost his way over there. Most of our super stars in the Wenger era would probably not have had nowhere the same impact for Madrid as they did for us.

Wenger can develop Benzema into a world's top 10 player IMO. We are not getting him though.

Last 3 seasons he averages over a goal every second game. Thats top level striker numbers. Especially when you're sharing the spoils with Ronaldo. He'd easily score 25 league goals here.

Benzema is quality.

We are not.

Yeah, some serious under rating of Benzema's ability happening here.

He ran rings around Ferdinand and Lescott a couple of years ago at Wembley.

I'd rather spend £40 milllion + £1 for Benzema. Get it done!

I agree. 40m is better spent on Benzema than Cannibal. Wenger needs to get serious. If Madrid need to finance the Bale deal and dump players, then we should go after these guys. Snagging two of Benzema, Ozil and di Maria would finally give us the type of attacks that Wenger was famous for back when Dula was still in diapers

Of course Dula was in diapers until his late 20s, so that´s not being very specfic...

But they were CK diapers.

We can't hope to close a big deal like this in the period of 9 days. Free transfers, release clauses, skint clubs - That's how we roll.

Ur either overstating the former or underrating the latter.

Karim is a good player but will frustrate us a lot at times. Some games he won't show up, some games he will sulk and sometimes he won't try or give a shit.

But when he is on his game he can be very effective.

More importantly he is a big name and this will appease our inner transfer muppet.

If we wanted Rooney we would've signed him already imo

Nope

Benzema is the type of striker who could take the game to the opposition isn't he?
On form he would probably turn a game on his own, blazing from a deeper position and bearing down on goal, he'd be more direct, shoot from the edge of the box?
Wouldn't be trying to walk the ball into the net.

when he's on, he reminds me of a prime anelka, aggressive, mobile, and capable of stunning finishes. when he's off, he reminds of the rubbish anelka, moody, careless, infuriating.

from the little i've seen of him in pre-season, he does look like he's carrying a few extra kilos as well.

He likes to play the game at his own pace. In that respect he reminds me of Arshavin.

He's French. In that respect he reminds me of Gilles Grimandi.

😆 the extra few kilos should remind you of shavva as well

Moody, French, gifted, striker and at Arsenal. That's a template for brilliance.
