Lacazette was impacted by having Auba ahead of him for that central attacking spot. Injuries and the general lower quality of players around him also prevented him from flourishing. He did have a short spell where he looked like a real talisman. He was firey, would unsettle defenders and would be deadly with his finishing when at the top of his game, but alas he proved to be underwhelming.
I think the thing that puts folk off Gyokeres is the fact that he lacks smoothness to his actions. That and because he looks like Odegaard’s suppressed twin brother who lives in the attic.
He would be mighty effective for us, and I doubt there would be many strikers out there who would score with greater frequency for us.
The other thing that goes against him is that he doesn’t offer much else to what Havertz provides. I can see the appeal of someone coming in who would provide more magic moments (Isak, Martinez, Endrick) or someone who would bring more of a threat running in behind (Ekitike, Leao)
