Burnwinter I'll be the first to admit they are very optimistic, mostly in just that I don't see it being too feasible to have that much player movement - we aren't Chelsea!

However, I do think we might see more this summer with Berta at the helm, as he definitely had a lot more squad movement at Atletico than we are accustomed to. I just really want to see us add pace and ball striking to our frontline - if we can accomplish that while replacing anyone else that is shifted from the team in as close to a "one in, one out" policy as possible, I will be happy. I also hope we take some chances on young, high potential players for lower prices as squad depth (guys like Nypan).

Thought he would have gone elsewhere in Europe, somewhere like Spain and get a release clause put in if he wants to step up a bigger club. Though Villa probably making a good offer and he gets PL football. Villa still with an outside chance of finishing in the CL.

Pepe LeFrits him or Rodrygo. I still think they’ve fucked up the balance. They need a Havertz style forward and a proper Modric style playmaker. They are rich enough to keep all the players but bench time for these guys won’t work

Form has definitely picked up again, he looked off it in the first half of the season but looks to be really hitting form now.

Put him in our side where he doesn't have to be the main man every match and I really feel like he would cook. With Martinelli's form picking up, we would have great competition for spots in our frontline and that will only improve the squad. Imagine having his pace and transition ability in these Champions League ties where we know we are going to have ample green space on the counter with our elite defense holding strong. Or having his 1v1 ability opposite Saka on the other wing breaking down stubborn low blocks. The fact that he's got great ability on both feet and can play on both wings is just the icing on the cake for me. I have always been a huge fan of his but my interest did wane a bit in the beginning of this season - this last couple months has convinced me that he should be top of our list though.

USArsenal no. I think they are very close and it'd be really interesting to see how they develop together. I'd love to have both so you could stick Martinelli on the right to give Saka a break too. And we'd still have Nwaneri getting better and better. Imagine how much more exciting it'd be to bring on Martinelli and Nwaneri in a game than Trossard and Sterling!

USArsenal Nope. I think it's a true competition for that LW spot with Nico also providing quality depth on the RW and allowing us to rotate Saka a little more. I'd like to see a rotation similar to what Liverpool does with Gakpo and Diaz.

USArsenal of martinelli is in top form, it's very close. having both to cover when the other dips is the kind of depth we need at LW

RocktheCasbah There were rumours a few weeks ago as well, English media seems to be quite confident we will get this deal over the line.

He defo makes sense for them though, losing Kroos and probably Modric this summer they need someone else there.

Oh, i 100% agree with that. I am just wondering if either of them would be happy NOT being the starter. And before you say "there are plenty of games for everyone", that's not quite how players tend to think. Even if each player plays half the games, thats a max of 25-30 each, and that's if we go deep into all comps. Most players would say that is not enough games.

That's what happens at big teams though. And its 25-30 starts, you'd still be getting on as a sub and players don't view that the way they used to. I don't think either have quite hit the level where its a problem. You'd have to be Saka, Salah, Vini, Mbappe, etc level for this to be in your mindset IMO.

He’s doing his job. And at the moment doing it well. Very few can displace him in this sort of form. However, Remember there was a spell where Martinelli was in such poor form that Trossard was starting over him. He’s looking sharp now but this is him at his best. When he’s average, he adds nothing going forward. That delta is just too large in my opinion. We need someone with a higher floor. I would sacrifice a bit defensively to achieve better or simply more consistent offensive output down the left.

Saka is the foggin standard, fortunately or unfortunately.

Zubimendi apparently prioritising Madrid in the summer. Why anyone would leave the Basque Country to go and play for Madrid, I can only wonder.
