Qwiss we have Madueke now who is a more natural winger for that. And Trossard has played in that position as well even though he tends to want the ball closer to the box as well, so no reason why Eze can't.
While we usually want the winger to keep width and to have pace in transition, we also tend to play in rotating pods/triangles when we are camping against the low block. Remember when we still had Xhaka and Zinchenko playing those positions? Martinelli would make inside runs, Xhaka would rotate wide to send in low hard crosses, while Zinchenko played just behind them and linked the midfield or made overlapping runs if needed to pull away the defender and make space. MLS, Eze and Rice can do the same / similar.
